TellAbility (“we,” “us,” “our”) is an AI-powered hiring platform. We replace traditional resume screening with conversational AI that helps job seekers build rich professional profiles and helps recruiters find genuinely qualified candidates.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform at tellability.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
For Job Seekers:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth
- Professional information: education, work experience, skills, projects, certifications
- AI conversation data: your responses during profile-building conversations
- Job preferences: desired roles, salary expectations, location preferences, work style
- GitHub profile data (if you choose to connect your GitHub account)
- Resume content (if uploaded during onboarding for initial profile seeding)
For Recruiters:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number
- Company information: company name, industry, size, location, description
- Job posting details: role descriptions, requirements, compensation ranges
- AI conversation data: your responses during job creation conversations
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, interaction timestamps
- Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Log data: IP address, access times, referring URLs
- Authentication method used (email, Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth)
2.3 AI-Generated Information
Our AI system generates the following from your conversations and profile data:
- Professional summaries and skill assessments
- Profile compatibility scores used for job matching
- Skill verification assessments based on conversation analysis
- Match scores between candidate profiles and job postings
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account and professional profile
- Power AI conversations that build your profile through natural dialogue
- Generate match scores between job seekers and job postings
- Display your profile to recruiters when you match with their job postings
- Send notifications about matches, applications, and account activity
- Improve our AI models and matching algorithms
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure platform security
- Communicate service updates and respond to support requests
4. How We Share Your Information
Job Seeker Profiles Shared with Recruiters:
When you match with a job posting, the recruiter can see your professional profile including your name, skills, experience summary, education, and match score. Recruiters cannot see your raw AI conversation transcripts, salary expectations (until you choose to share), or private contact details until you express interest in a role.
We do NOT:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Share your data with advertisers
- Use your data for purposes unrelated to the hiring process
- Provide your information to other job seekers
Third-Party Service Providers:
We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform. These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations. Categories include:
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers
- AI and machine learning service providers
- Email delivery services
- File storage providers
- Performance and caching services

5. AI and Automated Decision-Making
TellAbility uses AI extensively. Here is exactly how:
- Profile Building: Our AI conducts 15-16 turn conversations to understand your skills, experience, and career goals. This replaces traditional form-filling, not human judgment.
- Skill Assessment: The AI generates honest professional assessments based on your conversation responses. These assessments determine how your profile is presented to recruiters.
- Job Matching: We use AI to calculate compatibility between your profile and job postings. Match scores help recruiters prioritize candidates but do not automatically accept or reject anyone.
- No Automated Rejection: Unlike traditional ATS systems, TellAbility does not automatically reject candidates. All matched profiles are presented to recruiters who make final decisions.
You can request a human review of any AI-generated assessment by contacting us.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Secure password storage using industry-standard hashing
- Short-lived authentication tokens
- Input validation and protection against common web vulnerabilities
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
- Access controls separating job seeker, recruiter, and admin data
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile, conversations, and personal data are scheduled for permanent deletion promptly
- Anonymized analytics data may be retained for service improvement
- Data required for legal compliance may be retained as required by law
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate personal data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to specific processing of your data

TellAbility uses minimal cookies required for the platform to function:

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics services that track you across other websites. We do not sell cookie data.
10. Children's Privacy
TellAbility is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will promptly delete their account and data.
11. International Users
TellAbility is operated from India. If you access the platform from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the platform, you consent to this transfer.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA): We process your data based on legitimate interest (providing our hiring service) and your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of TellAbility after changes constitutes acceptance.
